Year 6

Welcome to Year 6 - I hope you've had a super summer and are ready for the year ahead...

Homework

Welcome to year 6!

Homework will be given on a Friday. Maths will need to be completed homework books, showing full workings so I can check calculation methods and sort out any common errors. Some weeks, reading comprehensions will be sent which can be completed on the sheet.

All homework is expected in on Wednesdays - if not in school, it will need to be done at breaks.

As usual, I and Mrs Gazda will be available through Tuesday lunchtimes if your child has any questions or just needs a bit of support before the hand in day.

Spellings will be given on Wednesday and tested on Monday. These will be in their Spelling Log and will consist of 5 spellings (to practise the rule or pattern of the week) and 5 statutory words. The test will consist of words following the rule of the week plus the 5 statutory words given.

Reading - please listen to your child read and more importantly use the bookmark provided to challenge their understanding of the text. Please do this as much as possible; ideally every day but keep it short and sweet. Please complete the new yellow record and return daily as Dojo points will be awarded for readers.

Please make sure your child has a full outdoor kit, change of shoes and spare socks in school every day in case we have to move slots because of the weather.
